Midfielder George Maluleka is adamant he has what it takes to deliver at his new team Kruger United in the second tier.

The 35-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns player has been out of action for a year after parting ways with AmaZulu. He hopes to contribute to his new team's success massively in the new campaign.

“I want to thank the owners of Kruger United, I keep saying I'm very excited because I've been training, I knew something was going to come.

‘Maluleka has more to give'

“My focus is here right now, so like I said I'm excited for us to come, the chairman, the coach, they've stated very clearly that they wanna go to the top and I really hope I can be able to contribute.

“I believe I can, I still have a lot more to give and a lot of inspiration, a lot of encouragement to the guys and the team is looking really good hence I'm saying, I'm very excited to work with the guys.

“It's nothing new, I mean football will always be football obviously it's a different level but I always believe that before anything, before you are a superstar or professional footballer, or celebrity, you are always a human being at first. Which is why I said, I'm gonna take this opportunity and I'm gonna run with it.”

Despite his advancing age, the former South Africa international has not given up on playing in the Premier Soccer League again.

“Anything is possible, I will always push myself to the limit. I always say the sky is the limit, I will always push myself, I'll push myself all the time when given an opportunity, and whenever I'm on the field, I will run like there's no tomorrow.”

Maluleka might make his Kruger United debut on Saturday against Baroka FC in Lebowakgomo.
