South Africa international defender Grant Kekana is convinced Malibongwe Khoza has what it takes to be considered regularly by Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 20-year-old academy graduate was promoted to the senior team owing to his excellent performances in the Diski Challenge and later on in the pre-season in Austria. The youngster eventually made his debut in the ongoing 202/25 campaign.
The defender played against Mbabane Swallows in the second leg of the second preliminary round of the Caf Champions League, a game Masandawana won -0 with the centre-back among the scorers.
Kekana lauds Khoza – ‘He is something special'
Kekana has showered the youngster with praise owing to his mature performances, insisting he has a bright future at the club.
“He’s something special, I think, especially during the pre-season we had in Austria, he was there with us and he is showing signs of being a top defender,” the 31-year-old told the media.
“In the next coming years [he will be up there], he grabs every opportunity he gets, he’s always willing to listen, he works hard at training, never sulks.

“I just can’t wait for him to claim his place. Hopefully, he will be my replacement and do three times better than I did.”
Masandawana are already out of the MTN8 after falling against Stellenbosch in the semi-final. But they have the Carling Knockout, the Nedbank Cup, and of course the Premier Soccer League.
The South African heavyweights are also in the Caf Champions League group stage meaning Khoza will have a few chances to prove his worth.
