Kaizer Chiefs are making every effort to secure the services of Percy Tau, who is reportedly on the verge of leaving Al Ahly following a fall-out with head coach Marcel Koller.
According to an Egyptian football outlet KingFut, Koller made it clear to the club’s management that he doesn’t want the Bafana Bafana winger in his team anymore for next season.
The 30-year-old forward has one year remaining on his contract with the Cairo-based team and has declined to depart by mutual agreement without receiving the remainder of his settlement.
CHIEFS TEAM MANAGER CONFIRMS CLUB’S ATTEMPTS TO GET TAU
According to another Egyptian website, Elbadsport, Chiefs’ team manager Gerald Sibeko confirmed that they want to sign Tau but the left-footer hasn’t been answering the calls.
“We certainly want to sign Percy Tau, based on the coach's request. Unfortunately, Percy Tau does not want to take our call. We called him today as well and he did not respond to us,” he told Elbaladsport.

If the Chiefs' transfer does not materialize and the club is unable to sell him, they may have no choice but to retain him for an additional season.
Egyptian journalist Mohamed Al Leithi disclosed to Soccer Laduma that Koller’s issue with Tau stems from the player's short temper and a noticeable drop in performance attributed to a lack of dedication in training.
WHAT IS KOLLER’S ISSUE WITH PERCY TAU?
“Percy Tau is not in the calculations of Marcel Koller, Al Ahly's technical director, at all,” he said.
“Koller asked Al Ahly's management to look for an offer for Tau this summer, as soon as possible, to include a suitable foreign alternative.
“Koller confirmed to the team official that the problem with Tau is not technical, but he is quick to anger, and he was performing strongly when he was committed to training.
“In the event that there is no offer for Tau to leave, a session will be held between Koller and the player to settle the atmosphere because there will be no other solution.”
