‘He is not yet done!’ Mngqithi lauds Sundowns’ youngster

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi is convinced youngster Kutlwano Letlhaku will hit even greater heights very soon.

The teenager was on target on Saturday as his team claimed a 5-0 win over Golden Arrows in the Carling Knockout's Round of 16.

Despite being 18, the attacker has shown maturity on the pitch; he joined Masandawana from the School of Excellence. He was part of the Sundowns team that camped in Austria for the pre-season.

According to Mngqithi, Kutlwano has what it takes to be a hit with the reigning Premier Soccer League champions. The former AmaZulu tactician insists the game against the Golden Arrows will motivate Letlhaku to double his efforts and stay at the top level.

I expect more from Letlhaku – Mngqithi

“Kutlwano is one for the future, I believe he has a lot to offer, he hasn’t done what I think he is capable of, and for him to start scoring in official matches, because he scored some very good goals during pre-season,” he told the media.

“Unfortunately, in official matches, he’s not really been as brave to take these opportunities because he has a brilliant left foot, and we still expect a lot from him. Very good player one-on-one, very good player in cutting into the box.

“But there’s still a lot more I can expect from him, and I was also very excited to see even the other teammates do feel that maybe giving him a little bit of a boost is going to take him to the next level, he will be very important for the team going forward.”

Letlhaku might get some minutes on Wednesday when the Brazilians play Royal AM in the Premier Soccer League.
