Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompo Kekana is of the opinion that his former teammate Bongani Zungu won’t fit at Kaizer Chiefs at the moment.
The 32-year-old midfielder, Zungu has recently returned from Morocco, where he was unable to secure a contract after a two-week trial with Wydad Casablanca.
It appears Rulani Mokwena’s side was concerned about the player’s fitness particularly since he missed the pre-season following his exit from Sundowns at the conclusion of the last season.
Kekana asserts that a player of Zungu’s quality should not be facing difficulties in securing a club.
He believes that numerous PSL teams could benefit from the services of the former Rangers player; however, he believes that Zungu should first focus on revitalizing his career at a smaller club before considering a move to Chiefs.

WHY KEKANA FEELS ZUNGU CAN’T MAKE IT AT CHIEFS AT THE MOMENT
“Here at home, why can't we sign a player like Bongani? Of that quality? I don't know. I am a bit worried when I look at a player of Bongani's calibre struggling to find a team here at home,” Kekana said.
“I believe so many teams need him. There are a lot of teams that I believe need his experience.
“I was going to say Kaizer Chiefs, but since he has not played for… how many months? Six months. He didn't do pre-season. I don't think he will fit at Chiefs at this moment.
“Maybe go to a team like Polokwane City and revive yourself. I see Xola Mlambo had not played for two years and he came back with Marumo Gallants trying to revive himself.
“I think Bongani Zungu just needs to take that path and come back stronger.”
