‘Hiring Mosimane will reduce Kaizer Chiefs problem, why Nabi?’ Ertugral questions Amakhosi

Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral has questioned the logic behind the club's decision to go for Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi as opposed to appointing free agent Pitso Mosimane as their new coach.

The former Young African coach has reportedly agreed to join the Soweto giants and help them get their mojo back after going for nine seasons without winning silverware.

Mosimane is available after parting ways with former Saudi Pro League side Abha upon the expiry of his contract. Initially, the fans had anticipated the 59-year-old would succeed Molefi Ntseki, but the Glamour Boys management had other ideas.

‘Chiefs' silence is shameful' – Ertugral not having kind words for Amakhosi

Apart from questioning the wisdom behind Nabi's reported appointment, the 64-year-old tactician feels Chiefs are not administered as they should.

He argues that Mosimane has all the information about the Soweto giants, and would have been the ideal person to take over at Naturena, “I don't see the need to pay attention to a coach that Chiefs knows nothing about when Mosimane is unemployed and does not hide the fact that he grew up as their fan,” the Turkish citizen told Isolezwe.

“Chiefs' silence is shameful because they do not act like a team that is considered to be great. Everything they know about the coach they are associated with is from the media, but they know Mosimane's work.

“Hiring Mosimane will reduce many problems that would come with a new coach who still has to learn a lot not only about the team but also about the league,”

‘Am I the only one?' Mosimane seemingly uninterested in Chiefs job

In his recent interview with the media, Mosimane looked uninterested in the Amakhosi coaching job.

“I would like to know why I am the only one when there are many coaches in the world who can fix Kaizer Chiefs,” the three-time Caf Champions League winner stated.

“There are good German coaches and Serbian coaches, they have all the coaches, why am I the only one to fix that? There’s a lot of people who can fix it.”

It is interesting to see whether Nabi will satisfy the hungry Amakhosi fans if he is indeed confirmed at Naturena.
