Sekhukhune United have signed midfielder Sipho Mbule from Mamelodi Sundowns for a season-long loan deal.
The SuperSport United Academy graduate is seen as surplus to requirement by the Masandawana technical team led by coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
Babina Noko have been chasing the 26-year-old to bolster their squad in a bid to have a good 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season.
Mbule at Sekhukhune United
In his previous interview, coach Lehlohonolo Seema explained the importance of having quality players in this campaign.
“It’s not even about [Caf competitions], the games in the Betway Premiership are already going to be on top of each other. We are going to spend two weeks here [Polokwane], he told the media.
“We are playing four games here so as long as we have depth because injuries will come, loss of form and a lot of things can happen.
“But it is not about Caf [Confederation Cup], we are just trying to make sure we balance our squad so that in each and every game we can have a good team.”
What Sekhukhune said on Mbule's arrival

Babina Noko are happy to have managed to secure the services of one of the most experienced midfielders in the country.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club would like to announce the signing of Sipho Mbule, on loan, from Mamelodi Sundowns,' the club confirmed.
“Mbule joins Babina Noko, having played 51 matches in the past 2 seasons, at the Chloorkop-based outfit.
“‘Master Chef’ as Mbule is affectionately known, will have his work cut out, in a team that has been business-like in its acquisitions, in the off-season.
“The Babina Noko family welcomes Sipho and wishes him a productive stay.”
How did Chiefs miss on Mbule?
Before joining Sundowns from the Swanky Boys in the 2022/23 season, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs were desperate for his services.
However, according to his agent Mike Makaab, the box-to-box midfielder did not fancy a move to the Glamour Boys.
“Sipho wanted to play for Sundowns and Chiefs was not his preference, and Sundowns were prepared to pay the asking transfer fee to Supersport. Case closed,” he revealed.
It is interesting to see whether Sundowns will consider having Mbule in their squad once his deal with Babina Noko concludes.
