Kaizer Chiefs newly appointed Head of Scouting and Recruitment Thembela ‘Tera’ Maliwa has been hailed by the club’s former defender Morgan Gould.
Maliwa’s departure from Mamelodi Sundowns was just among the recent major changes that took place within the club.
Maliwa's departure from Mamelodi Sundowns was one of the recent significant changes within the club.
He honed his skills at Ajax Cape Town before working for Ajax Amsterdam and Heerenveen in the Netherlands. Upon returning to South Africa, he spent seven years at Sundowns before leaving last month.
Gould showered Maliwa with praise, stating that his hard work behind the scenes is now paying off.
He believes Maliwa will positively impact Chiefs, who have struggled to win a trophy since 2016.

‘I KNOW HE WILL ADD VALUE’
“Definitely, it’s one of those big moves,” Gould told iDiski Times
“I get goosebumps when you speak about Tera because he’s done his work very silently. The more you do your work silently, the day they notice you, it’s nothing new.
“To Tera, it’s nothing new; he’s been doing it; he went to Amsterdam, he did his work, came back and helped a couple of teams, and was at Mamelodi Sundowns.
“What better way than to go to a team that really needs fresh blood and fresh ideas? Tera is going to come with that new energy and new breeding of players.
“So, I like what Kaizer Chiefs has done by acquiring the likes of Tera, and I know he will add value.”
Maliwa is expected to help Amakhosi identify and develop its own talent rather than spending large sums of money.
This follows a notion that clubs inflate the price tags of their players when Chiefs express interest.
