‘I used to bring the best out of Chivaviro’ – Khune

South Africa legend Itumeleng Khune is convinced Ranga Chivaviro will reach his potential at Kaizer Chiefs.

The 31-year-old joined Amakhosi at the beginning of the 2023/24 season from Marumo Gallants. Prior to joining the Soweto giants, Chivaviro had scored 17 goals for his former team in the 30 games he played in the 2022/23 campaign.

However, he struggled to replicate his form at Amakhosi in his debut campaign with the Glamor Boys.

Former Kaizer goalkeeper Khune says the forward is talented and always gives his best during training sessions.

“He is playing a huge role in making sure that as a striker, you have to finish a game with a goal or with a shot at goal,” the 37-year-old told SABC Sport.

“He is a type of striker that likes to take shots at goal and that's what I like about him. I used to bring the best out of him at training and he used to bring the best out of me. So I am happy to see him doing well,” Khune concluded.

In the ongoing campaign, Chivaviro has already scored three goals in the four competitive matches he has played across all competitions.

However, he was booed against SuperSport United on Saturday after failing to convert the first two massive chances he got. He, eventually, managed to get his name on the scoresheet as his team managed to get a 4-0 win to advance and set a date with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-final.
