‘It hasn’t sunk in’ – Mabasa on Pirates’ achievement this season

Published on by

Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa says winning MTN8 for the third time in a row this season has yet to sink in.

Last year saw Orlando Pirates lift their third consecutive top 8 trophy, beating Stellenbosch FC 3-1 in the MTN8 final held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

This victory was another feather in the cap for Jose Riveiro, who is departing the club at the end of the season.

Mabasa, who scored one goal and set up another in the final, says the significance of winning the MTN8 for the third time in a row is still yet to fully register.

MABASA ON WINNING MTN8 FOR THE THIRD TIME CONSECUTIVELY

“It’s a bit of a difficult question to answer, but I feel like it hasn’t sunk in for me personally,” said Mabasa as quoted by iDiski Times.

“We’ve managed to be rewriting history quite a few times already and as a group, you know, and we just want to do more.

“We know that we are capable, and we are aiming to achieve plenty more things together as a group.”
