Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune believes Congolese striker Christian Saile has not been used well by coach Nasreddine Nabi and that is why he is now on his way out.
Saile is reported to be close to signing for Chippa United, bringing an end to two unsuccessful years at Chiefs, where he has not lived up to expectations.
The forward has become a peripheral figure at Chiefs in the last one year with his 2024-25 campaign even worse as he is yet to start a game, having made six substitute appearances without scoring a goal.
Khune feels Saile not used well
It has left him disillusioned with life on the bench and is now ready to move on in search of regular playing time, with the Chilli Boys reported to be in prime position to snap him up.
Khune is among those who feel the striker’s strengths have not been utilised at Naturena and believes a fresh start is ideal for him.
“Saile’s strength is to run at defenders but he has not shown that since coach Nabi took over,” Khune said on SABC on Monday night.
Can the Congolese blossom at Chippa?

“When he came, he used to bang in goals and take on defenders, he used to create coming from the right-hand side as a left-footed player, but I think Chippa will make [good] use of him.”
Saile joined Chiefs in January 2023 from Zambian club Nchana Rangers but has failed to replicate the great form he showed at Naturena where he has just six goals in 49 matches.
The forward, who is primarily a striker, has also had to endure being played out of position, as Chiefs have used him on the wings for most of his time at the club, which has reduced his efficiency somewhat.
