Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune is open to a role in the national team in future if an opportunity presents itself.
Khune is in the first year since he stopped playing, after Chiefs opted not to extend his contract, and he has opted to engage in other areas like business and punditry as he waits for his next opportunity in football.
The former Bafana Bafana star has been cited as future goalkeeper trainer at either club or national team level and it is a role he is very keen on, if the door opens.

During an Agree or Disagree challenge with an Orlando Pirates fan, former Chiefs goalkeeper Brian Baloyi, who was part of the discussion, started the conversation over Khune possibly getting a role in the Bafana Bafana setup.
Khune leaves door open for Bafana role
“I think you are the better goalkeeper. You should even be Bafana Bafana’s goalkeeper coach,” Baloyi told Khune as quoted by iDiski Times.
“Hopefully, the doors will open,” Khune responded, while expressing a desire to pass on his knowledge those still learning the ropes.

“I will take that opportunity when it comes to be a goalkeeper coach and help transfer my skills to the future goalkeepers of South Africa,” he added.
Khune made 91 Bafana Bafana appearances from 2008-2020, and even captained the side, representing his country at the 2010 World Cup, 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as well as the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he was one of the overage plyers for South Africa.
