Kaizer Chiefs are cooking! South Africa international confirms move

Amakhosi are signing players they feel will help them end the almost decade-long trophyless run.

Kaizer Chiefs fans are certain of having a new defender after Bafana Bafana international Rushwin Dortley thanked his former teammates at Cape Town Spurs.

Afrik-Foot confirmed the Glamour Boys parted with R6 million for the services of the 22-year-old who is seen as a long-term replacement for Sifiso Hlanti. The relegated outfit had already confirmed the left-back would not be part of them ahead of the new season.

The player and the Glamour Boys have now agreed on personal terms, meaning there is nothing that will stop Chiefs from unveiling the defender on Sunday.

‘I got frustrated at times but..' the South Africa thankful for the lessons

Dortley joined Spurs at 15 and was part of the squad that gained promotion after the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

“Firstly, I want to say thank you to the owners for giving me the opportunity seven years ago and it has been a good seven years,”: the highly-rated defender said in his farewell party.

“I wanna thank all the junior coaches who have been part of my development. I also wanna say thank you to the coach [Ernst Middendorp] for pushing me and believing that I can do better. Even though I got frustrated sometimes, I always understood the reason; and I just wanna say thank you to my teammates. [To] those who are not here anymore [and] the ones that are here,” Dortley continued.

“Thank you for pushing me and always being there, not as a teammate, but as a brother as well. I just wanna say thank you to everyone and thank you to the club.”

Last season, Dortley played 26 PSL games, and managed to provide an assist.
