Kaizer Chiefs are young & lack experience! Nabi reacts to embarrassing loss to Yanga SC

The Tunisian is convinced the Glamour Boys will deliver in future assignments after a disappointing outing this weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is convinced his team will bounce back from a 4-0 Toyota Cup loss against Yanga SC to register better results in the future.

A brace from Aziz Ki and goals apiece from Clement Mzize and Prince Dube were enough to silence thousands of Chiefs fans who had flocked to the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on Saturday afternoon.

The result is not what the Amakhosi faithful had anticipated after a three-week tour in Turkey led by the Tunisian tactician.

It is a friendly game, Chiefs are learning

Wananchi outplayed their hosts, taking their chances in style to end the South Africa tour on a high note.

The 58-year-old tactician has now stated the Glamour Boys are still learning and they will eventually learn.

“Today's loss is obviously disappointing, but it is a friendly game, we are busy learning from our mistakes and we will build a strong team,” Nabi said after the game.

“Despite the loss, great things did happen and we will build upon those good things that happened to make great performances in the future.

“I would like to congratulate Young Africans for their performance; we have a young team that lacks experience, they are learning, and will learn from their mistakes, we will build a strong team.”

More signings needed

Chiefs have so far strengthened the defensive department; on Sunday, they officially confirmed the signing of Rwanda international goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley from TS Galaxy and Cape Town Spurs respectively.

Another player who has been signed is former Orlando Pirates defender Boingani Sam who is meant to strengthen the left-back area.

However, Nabi should consider getting at least two established midfielders and a striker to take the chances created.

The time is running out for the Glamour Boys to get players who can strengthen the team ahead of the new season.
