Amakhosi have made a big statement of intent in their pursuit of the winger

Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly submitted a R10 million bid to sign Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis after the player’s transfer to Algeria fell through on Tuesday.

The Bafana Bafana attacker had agreed personal terms with Algerian side MC Alger but Polokwane club did not reach an agreement with the North Africans whose transfer window closed on Tuesday.

Having been one of Chiefs’ targets, Amakhosi have moved with speed to conclude the transfer to avoid a bidding war with another club and there is hope that Polokwane will accept their bid.

What has Appollis agreed with Chiefs?

According to The South African, Chiefs have already agreed personal terms with Appollis and what is holding the deal is a decision from his club.

Chiefs are in the market for further reinforcements after coach Nasreddine Nabi made it clear that he is still looking to add onto his squad with a winger and a striker highly sought.

Appollis had been among those on their wish list but the interest from Algeria had turned his head before the deal collapsed.

The winger was on fire for Bafana Bafana

The winger showed Chiefs fans what he would be bringing to Naturena if the transfer materialises when he scored a brace for Bafana Bafana in their 3-2 victory against South Sudan in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Tuesday.

Polokwane coach Phuti Mohafe recently confirmed that the club is resigned to losing the player when it appeared like a deal to Algeria was imminent.
