Rubén del Campo, a Switzerland youth international, has opted to return to Spain with Murcia CF, ending his potential transfer to Kaizer Chiefs.
The Soweto giants had reportedly reached a personal agreement with the striker, who was available on a free transfer after leaving Atlético Ottawa.
However, the deal with Chiefs was terminated. The club shifted their focus to other transfer targets, including Tashreeq Morris, who is expected to join in a swap deal involving Christian Saile, and Glody Lillepo, who is being pursued from French club Valenciennes.
Del Campo now returns to Spain, where he previously played for San Fernando, Melilla, Numancia, and Atlético de Madrid. Atlético Madrid signed him from Young Boys in Switzerland as a promising young striker.
