SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of Kaizer Chiefs Academy graduate Donay Jansen for the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League campaign.
The Swanky Boys are still rebuilding their squad after losing star players like Shandre Campbell, Jesse Donn, Abdulrazack Hamza, and Phathutshedzo Nange among others.
It explains why they went for the 21-year-old Glamour Boys product to strengthen the attacking department.
Why did Jansen leave Chiefs?
Versatile Jansen impressed new coach Nasreddine Nabi at Naturena, and the Tunisian recommended a new deal for the youngster.
However, the tactician couldn't guarantee the player playing time at the club because he is under pressure to deliver. The Soweto giants have gone nine seasons without winning any major silverware which has frustrated the management and all the stakeholders including the fans.
Jansen, who is contracted at Amakhosi until 2027, will hope to capitalise on the opportunity and convince Nabi to consider him for the next Premier Soccer League season, or even recall him in the January transfer window.
Jansen to battle Nasir for a starting berth?

Recently, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi confirmed Ethiopia international Abubeker Nasir has joined SuperSport.
“Nassir is not at Sundowns at the moment and I think he is at SuperSport. I thought you should know that,” Mngqithi told reporters.
The Ethiopian winger suffered a career-threatening injury during a match against Orlando Pirates early in his debut season. Despite his best efforts to recover, Nassir struggled to regain full fitness and missed significant playing time.
Jansen will have to consistently prove he has what it takes to deliver at the highest level.
