The former skipper has weighed in on the incomings and outgoings at Orlando Stadium
Orlando Pirates legend Lucky Lekgwathi has expressed his satisfaction at the Buccaneers’ transfer business and does not feel they need further reinforcements.
The PSL transfer window shuts on Friday but while Pirates’ rivals such as Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are still looking to beef up their squad, Jose Riveiro’s side appear settled already.
Pirates have so far brought in Gilberto (Petro de Luanda), Thuso Moleleki (Orbit College), Selaelo Rasebotja (SuperSport United) and Deano van Rooyen (Stellenbosch FC), while promoting some youngsters from the academy, and Lekgwathi is happy at how the club has gone about its business.

What impresses Lucky Lekgwathi about Pirates’ signings?
“For me, I think they have depth into the team in every position. Like now, I was happy to see Gilberto given a chance to play,” Lekgwathi told FARPost.
“At the moment, we don’t want to make the mistakes that others do of letting all the senior players go, and you don’t bring other senior players, and you only bring inexperienced players, and that is where you fail.
“But look at Pirates; I agree Kermit Erasmus has left, but they have brought in Gilberto and other positions they have also beefed up.”

The Buccaneers have started this season in fine fashion
Pirates have been impressive this season and are yet to taste defeat, having sealed a place in the MTN8 final, and close to qualifying for the CAF Champions League group stages, as they carry a 2-0 advantage into Saturday’s second leg against Jwaneng Galaxy.
Riveiro’s men also started their PSL campaign with a 2-1 win over Chippa United which should further boost the confidence of supporters that success will be witnessed again at the Orlando Stadium.
