After a tough start, the 26-year-old has now settled and is a starter for the Algerian outfit. he has so far scored three goals.
The former Citizens striker has explained how his teammates and the technical team helped him settle in North Africa.
It has been a journey that I am enjoying

“Well, it took me a couple of months to settle in, but I have managed to find my feet because of the coaches and the players. They helped me adapt more quickly to the league and adjust to the team’s style of play,” he told the media.
“For me, it has been a journey that I’m enjoying. As a footballer, you have to look for moments like this in order to enjoy your football each time you get an opportunity to play.”
Mayo is now hoping to win Hugo Broos' trust, “I think with the Bafana call-up, I have been putting myself out there, raising my hand, knocking on the door once again, you know, and asking questions to be in the team.
“But we will see what happens because it’s a long journey. The season is still long, and with God’s will, everything will go fine according to my plan,” Mayo concluded.
Bafana get back in action in March when the 2026 World Cup qualifiers resume, and later on the preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
