Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has confirmed a move for Abubeker Nassir to a PSL club.

Mngqithi made the announcement following Sundowns' 4-1 victory over Marumo Gallants on Tuesday.

The Ethiopian winger's future at Sundowns had been uncertain leading up to the start of the season.

Mngqithi confirmed that Nassir moved to Swanky Boys on loan, revealing that the player is no longer with Sundowns.

“Nassir is not at Sundowns at the moment and I think he is at SuperSport. I thought you should know that,” Mngqithi told reporters.

The Ethiopian winger suffered a career-threatening injury during a match against Orlando Pirates early in his debut season.

Despite his best efforts to recover, Nassir struggled to regain full fitness and missed significant playing time.

Nassir returned to training with Sundowns during the pre-season and participated in their training camp in Austria.

However, the club's need to fill their foreign quota with other players ultimately contributed to their decision to move him to SuperSport United.

Nassir has scored four goals in 17 matches he has played for Bafana Ba Style in all competitions.

He is the second player to be loaned by Masandawana to SuperSport after the goalkeeper Ricardo Goss.

They have also loaned out Matias Esquivel, Sipho Mbule, Etiosa Ighodaro, Siyanda Msani, Ismail Watenga, Sfiso Ngobeni, Luvuyo Phewa and Thando Buthelezi.
