Mngqithi on Arrows future: Will he stay for next season?

Published on by

Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has addressed his future at the KZN club ahead of next season.

Having rejoined Abafana Bes’thende last month, February 2025, after his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns in December 2024, coach Mngqithi has now embarked on his third stint with the Durban-based club.

He previously led Arrows between 2007 and 2010, and again from 2012 to 2013.

In the three matches since his latest return, Arrows have recorded one win, one draw, and one loss.

Despite speculation suggesting his current tenure is only until the end of the season, Mngqithi has expressed his desire to remain with Abafana Bes’thende beyond the current campaign.

MNGQITHI – ‘IT’S MY HOME THIS ONE’

“It’s my home, this one,” Mngqithi told iDiski Times.

“If they still want me here next season, why not? It can’t be nicer than being in a club that gave me an opportunity when nobody would even touch. No matter how much success I can achieve somewhere else, this will always be home.

“This will always be my base; this will always be a place I will always want the best for because I would never be excited to see this club struggling when I could have assisted.

“I am enjoying every minute, the people here love me, the supporters love me; everybody in this club adores me, so I appreciate being in an environment like that.”
