The South Africa international has been keen on ending his stay at Masandawana for a better offer.
The Premier Soccer League's 2022/23 Footballer of the Year Teboho Mokoena's English Premier League ambitions might be as good as over.
The Bafana Bafana international's current deal with Mamelodi Sundowns is set to expire in 2026 but the midfielder was not keen on honouring it owing to what he felt were unimpressive financial terms. After his exploits in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which helped South Africa win a bronze, there were reports some teams from Europe were interested in him.
Among the suitors were Premier League side Bournemouth and Caf Champions League champions Al Ahly.
The Brazilians were playing hardball on the 27-year-old, but it seems the stance has softened and the management has given in to Mokoena's demands.

South Africa international to retire at Downs?
Reports have now emerged that Mokoena will extend his stay at Downs, meaning he might be signing a long-term deal just like Ronwen Williams who will be at the club until 2028.
“[SABC Sport] established [Mamelodi Sundowns and Mokoena] have reached an agreement, with the 2023 PSL Footballer of the Year putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal to keep him at the club beyond June 2026,” the state broadcaster confirmed.
“Indications are that all parties are now satisfied with the terms and conditions and have finally closed the chapter, looking ahead to the 2024/25 campaign, which kicks off [in August].”
New signing confirmed by Masandawana
Meanwhile, the reigning Premier Soccer League champions have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Sekhukhune United defender Asekho Tiwani. The teenager played 16 games for Babina Noko across all competitions last season, and his displays attracted the Brazilians.
The defender will be battling Aubrey Modiba, Terrence Mashego, and Devine Lunga for a place in the starting team.
The youngster is Sundowns' fourth signing after the arrival of Arthur Oliveira Sales, Kegan Johannes and Kobamelo Kodisang.
Masandawana have so far lost Bongani Zungu, Gaston Sirino, Junior Mendieta, Brian Onyango, Promise and Thabiso Kutumela.
