Morris might be Chiefs’ ‘Mbatha’ he doesn’t complicate things – Dr. Khumalo

South Africa legend Doctor Khumalo insists Kaizer Chiefs‘ incoming forward Tashreeq Morris has all the qualities to be a hit at Kaizer Chiefs.

The 30-year-old is expected to complete his move from SuperSport United after undergoing the formalities this week. However, a section of the club's supporters don't feel Morris is the ideal striker that the Glamour Boys badly need.

In his short stint with the Swanky Boys, the towering attacker scored just two goals in the 10 appearances he made across all competitions. Gavin Hunt said it is a blow losing the experienced forward to the Soweto giants.

Amakhosi legend Khumalo believes Morris will deliver if only he gets the right services from the creative players.

“I would like to believe that we don’t have to be harsh or look at the journey of the boy and think that he might not make it,” he said on SoccerZone.

“He might surprise us because there are so many players that are in other teams, a [Thalente] Mbatha for that matter, that comes from SuperSport to Pirates and here he is in the national team.

“So, Morris, I like him because he is an outright striker, he does things simply, he doesn’t like to complicate things and only if they can give him what we call suppliers because if you don’t have those people then what’s the use of getting a striker.”

Christian Saile is expected to join SuperSport United after failing to impress coach Nasreddine Nabi.
