The celebrated tactician is currently a free agent after his deal with Saudi Pro League outfit Abha concluded.
Legendary former South Africa footballer Jomo Sono has challenged coach Pitso Mosimane to consider getting a new team but not in the Premier Soccer League.
Since leaving Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020, the 60-year-old has coached Egyptian heavyweights Al Ahly and Middle East teams – Al Ahli Jeddah, Al Wahda and Abha. Jingles, as he is commonly known, has been a free agent since leaving Abha.
Initially, Mosimane had been heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but the Soweto giants eventually appointed Nasreddine Nabi as their coach.

‘Pitso shouldn't be out for too long'
On Wednesday, the three-time Caf Champions League winner was awarded an honorary doctorate owing to what he has achieved as far as football is concerned. Sono explained why the tactician should not consider a local offer.
“I think [Pitso] shouldn’t stay too long out of the game, [but] he should not be coaching here [South Africa],” he stated.
“He’s a top-class coach. I think if he coaches here, he’ll be going one step down. I think he should be looking for a job outside the country. If Rulani [Mokwena] can get it, he can also get it because his CV is unbelievable.
“He shouldn’t coach here. If he coaches here it should be the national team and that’s it. You know he can’t go one step down. He must just go to the national team, people like Pitso should go in [Bafana team] as advisors you know.”
In a previous interview, Mosimane said he is open to coaching the national team. He claimed Nigeria had considered him for a vacant coaching position, but he turned it down.
Reports have it some North African teams are salivating for the services of the South African but so far no solid offer has been presented.
