‘Mosimane warned Mokwena but he must come to Sundowns; Cardoso football lacking direction’

South African coach Rulani Mokwena is set to part ways with Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Athletic Club, barely a season after joining them.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician struggled to meet the expectations set by the club's management, explaining why he has been under pressure, especially from the fans. Wydad AC have a chance to qualify for the Caf Champions League competition after missing out on trophies.

Have a look at what the fans said after the reports that the 38-year-old will not be in Morocco beyond this season.

He must come back to Sundowns. One day, you'll agree with me that we don't have a coach at Sundowns. Miguel Cardoso football doesn't have direction –  Sphamandla Stunnaman Brian

Orlando Pirates will be without a coach at the end of the season. Mokwena should get his CV updated –  Godfrey Majestic Mash Mashatole

Botola Pro League is not the Premier Soccer League, where you buy all the best players for your team to avoid competition – Skido SA

Rhulani must understand that scoring a goal doesn't need 1000 passes. The football that he wants to play is not working. He's so obsessed with passes that his teams don't even cross the ball, doesn't take straight corner kicks, or even free kicks. Sometimes all you need is to score, then play the beautiful football once the game is secured – Tshepo Clarence

Mokwena is only good in coaching small teams like Sundowns and Pirates, but Wydad Casablanca are way too big – Talent Tiara

At just 38 Mokwena has achieved what veteran coaches can only dream of

This was always going to be a difficult job for Mokoena, but it is a good learning experience for him. He can definitely be proud of the job he has done from sixth last season to third. Expectations are always high with big teams. PSL teams should definitely be on the lookout – Mlungisi Chris Biyela

Whatever the outcome, Rhulani should take pride in himself. At just 38 years old, he has achieved what many veteran coaches can only dream of. He's learning quickly and has time on his side to become one of the best young coaches Africa has produced. I'm happy for him; it's been an honor to see him coach such a successful team like Wydad, especially in North Africa – Moleli Mokhethoa

Pitso Mosimane warned him not to engage with the media and to just get on with his work quietly. But this experience will develop him to be a stronger character and a better coach. He's always welcome at Sundowns – Masipa Kekana

He is a genius; we appreciate everything he has done for South African football. Unfortunately, you can't be appreciated by everyone; he must come back home. We know that he has done everything in his power to lift that particular team, but unfortunately, the odds were against him – Moetie Dunga Dungi

Mokwena wanted to play against his idol Pep Guardiola in the Club World Cup, but for his reputation and health, he must bow out and use these experiences in other projects – Khulekani Ndlovu
