Motaung Jr reveals how Nabi feels about current Kaizer Chiefs squad

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has revealed how newly appointed head coach Nasreddine Nabi feels about the players he has at his disposal.

Amakhosi are still looking to sign more players ahead of the upcoming season to strengthen their squad following major changes in the technical team.

They are said to be interested in Elias Mokwana (Sekhukhune United), Asanele Velebayi (Cape Town Spurs), Oswin Appollis (Polokwane City), Inácio Miguel (Petro de Luanda), Lungelo Nguse (Golden Arrows) and Thabang Phete(Chaves).

In spite of acknowledging the need to bolster the squad, Motaung Jr. says Nabi has provided a “positive feedback” following the assessment of what he has in the team.

HOW NABI FEELS ABOUT CURRENT PLAYERS HE HAS AT CHIEFS?

“I think the coach is very well versed, he’s done his research on the league and he’s not just coming now and seeing a bunch of players – him and his staff are consummate professionals, and they’ve done a lot of their homework on our playing staff and what we need,” said Motaung Jr as quoted by iDiski Times.

“He has a lot of positive feedback, and of course I know he’ll be giving his report now towards the camp that’s done, and we also have a bit of extended time until our next fixture, so it’s going to give the coach more time to have a deeper look at certain players.

“He’s very clear on the kind of player that he wants to be at this team, and he’s very clear on the kind of football he wants to play, and very clear on the level of discipline and mentality he wants to work with.

“So, as it stands right now, it’s definitely a work in progress, but our camp is done and I think a debrief of the way forward is what we’ll now be focussing on.”
