‘Motsepe’s call to VAR was important, do you think this is PSL where teams rob Sundowns by scoring offside goals?’

Defending Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns set advanced to the Caf Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night after a goalless draw with Esperance.

It was all Masandawana needed after winning the first leg at Loftus Versfeld Stadium by a solitary goal. They will now play holders Al Ahly in the last four, hoping to go all the way and win the elusive second star.

Have a look at what the vital win against the Tunisian outfit who saw  Achref Jabri's effort in the 63rd minute ruled out for offside

Sundowns are ran badly

Mamelodi Sundowns celebrate a goal against Magesi

Thank you, Mamelodi Sundowns, and congratulations. You have done your job. We will do ours tomorrow in Orlando. We bring it home. Marcelo? What a player –  Sello Van der Moloko

This Caf Champions League title is ours; Devine Lunga was impressive, and I'm glad Lucas Suarez was calm because I was scared when I saw him on the starting XI, but it's clear that Aubrey Modiba was not covering up for him. Al Ahly is our daily bread –  Kanan Thabo Fx

In the Caf Champions League, you win your home games, and you suffer as a team in the away games. That's how you win it – Hobyane Ntsako Victör

Today, I discovered that this team is ran very badly. Just imagine the opponent being denied a goal – Wizzy Boe Michael

All of you saying that it was a goal, do you think this is the Premier Soccer League, where you are used to robbing us by scoring offside goals. We have VAR here – Ndi Vhuworld

Defending a 1-0 lead doesn’t work for us

Thanks to Dr Motsepe, that call to VAR offices was important – Mbekezeli Delani Nene

This is an embarrassing thing now. How long must referees continue saving us? Honestly, we could have taken the game to them, played and scored, but we choose to sit back, defend and rely on Motsepe to save us? Until we have the same mentality as Al Ahly, we will forever remain mediocre. I am very disappointed, and I now see why Esperance fired Cardoso – Promise Malape Mohlala

Well done, boys, I am so proud of you; sometimes it doesn't have to be pretty, just get the job done and move on –  Cebolenkosi Sizwe S'biya

Wow! I have no words to describe the marvelousness of my marvelous team. Very well done boys! We fought bravely together, attacking and defending together. Each one of our boys put up a gallant fight – Ngwako Monakhisi

This thing of defending a 1-0 lead is not working for us. Next time we won't be as lucky – Ancestors Favourite Thutloa
