Orlando Pirates vs Stellenbosch FC: Riveiro gives fitness update on Ndah & Saleng for MTN8 final

Published on by

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has responded to whether the injured duo Olisa Ndah and Monnapule Saleng will be available for the MTN8 final next week against Stellenbosch FC.

The two players were unavailable in the Richards Bay FC clash on Sunday where Ezimnyama Ngenkani picked up a 1-0 victory to maintain their winning streak.

Saleng and Ndah both were subbed off in the match against Polokwane City after picking up some knocks.

They were not ready to return to action when the Sea Robbers took a trip to KwaZulu-Natal for their fourth Betway Premiership.

Speaking to the journalists on Sunday, Riveiro insisted he wasn’t saving the two players for the final against Stellies.

He further stated it was uncertain whether they will be ready to play when Saturday comes.

JOSE RIVEIRO PROVIDES OLISA NDAH AND MONNAPULE SALENG UPDATE AHEAD OF MTN8 FINAL

“If you remember our last game against Polokwane City, both Olisa and Saleng were subbed because of two different injuries,” said Riveiro.

“That’s the reason they’re not here is because they couldn’t make it. They were not available for selection.

“And actually it’s not 100% sure that they are going to be there in the final as well. So, we’re not saving anybody because like I said before we’re taking every game like final.

“We are giving the same respect to respect to Richards Bay as the respect we are going to give Stellenbosch in the final.

“And that’s the way we want to do the things. So, there’s nothing like saving players, no not at all.”
