The Amakhosi coach has heaped praise on the Uruguayan attacker for his positive impact
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has lauded the great impact Gaston Sirino is having on the rest of the team since joining the club.
Sirino was on target on Wednesday as Chiefs beat AmaZulu 3-1 for their second straight win in the PSL and has also chipped in with two assists in as many games.
The 33-year-old’s output has excited his coach who has also revealed that his leadership qualities are also having an impact on the rest of the squad.
Why is Nasreddine Nabi thrilled with Gaston Sirino?
“He is one of the greatest examples of age quality and he has a lot of positive impact on the whole team when you think about players like [Mduduzi] Shabalala, [Mfundo] Vilakazi,” Nabi said after the match.
Sirino scored a beautiful goal after his thunderous strike from outside the box gave Chiefs a 2-0 lead inside 14 minutes but his coach is not just happy with the goal involvement but rather his contribution in other areas on the pitch.
“At some stage we will probably be able to say it was a good deal because he is one of the very serious [players] in terms of his involvement and also in terms of defensive involvement when we see the way he comes back as a defender,” added Nabi.

The attacker will be crucial for Chiefs against Sundowns
“It’s exactly the same kind of player I would like to get. If you remember I already said I didn’t want to have middle-class players. I want to have top quality players like Sirino.”
Sirino joined Sundowns as a free agent after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns where he spent seven successful years.
Chiefs host Sundowns in their next league match at the FNB Stadium on Saturday and Sirino will get a chance to show his former side what they are missing.
