Nabi reveals ‘main position’ for Chiefs’ Glody Lilepo

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has addressed questions about Glody Makabi Lilepo's role, stating his “main position” is winger.

Lilepo, the DR Congo international, arrived from Valenciennes FC in January and has quickly made an impact, scoring three goals and assisting one in eight matches.

Although he has experience playing as a striker, notably at his previous club, Nabi emphasized his primary role is on the wing.

“I think the first position for him is winger – right, left but really he is a winger,” said Nabi.

“Sometimes in France, he played as a second striker with Valenciennes but that’s not his first position.”

Meanwhile, Nabi was not happy with how they missed numerous chances they created in their 0-0 draw against Cape Town City. He believes they could have scored more than three goals.

“Today, in the last 20 minutes, we pushed Mmodi on the winger and we pushed more players into the 18 [area]. I think you observed it,” he added.

“We continued to create more chances but we couldn’t score. It’s not dramatic but it’s very bad because it’s not the first time we have a chance to go up [the table], we drop points.

“If you remember at the start of the season and now, the same mistakes are continuing. You have a chance to up [the table], you lose this chance.

“Sometimes you need evaluation on why and what is the problem because today [Wednesday], the normal score [could have been] 3-0 or 4-0.”
