Kaizer Chiefs beat Marumo Gallants 5- 4 in post-match penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time to win the Cufa Cup.
Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma saved two spot-kicks to ensure coach Nasreddine Nabi secured his first unofficial trophy in Mzansi.
The Tunisian tactician was delighted that Amakhosi eventually won but did not enjoy the fact that his team, at some point, lost control of the proceedings at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
He argues the Glamour Boys have to ensure they dominate the game from the first to the final whistle.
‘If I lose, it’s a problem, I don't sleep'
“It was a very intense game, it was an excellent thing [winning the Cup], but we created a lot of chances,” Nabi opened up.
“Just like against [Mamelodi] Sundowns, we also created a lot of opportunities. This is a big, big problem. I want a winning mentality. There are no friendly games. In friendly games, you need a positive attitude and a winning attitude. In exercises in training, I want to win.
“If I lose, it’s a problem. I don’t sleep. I want this mentality. We lost momentum in the game, we gave the other team the chance to gain control, this is unacceptable. Secondly, we play [Carling Knockout] Cup against SuperSport [United], this is a very bad repetition. Maybe the SuperSport coach was watching and if we reach penalties again I need to change takers.”
The game between the Swanky Boys and Amakhosi will be staged on Saturday, October 19 at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium.
