Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi believes his team have made significant progress since he arrived which will be crucial in their performance against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Chiefs face Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-final at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, just a month since losing 2-1 to the Brazilians in a league match that was marred by claims of poor officiating.
Sundowns are the team that ended Chiefs’ two-match winning run and since then, Amakhosi have lost two games, won one and drawn another but Nabi feels there have been giants strides made and some of the positives will be witnessed on Saturday.

What is giving the Chiefs coach belief ahead of the cup tie?
“We believe from the first game to today, there's a lot that has happened, individually and collectively the team has improved, and we can look for better things this Saturday,” he told the media.
Nabi is looking at the glass half-full just hours after explaining his frustrations at his team’s display following their 2-2 draw away to Magesi FC on Wednesday, when they came from two goals down to rescue a point.
“Today [Wednesday], there is nothing positive that we are taking because we believe that we should’ve won the three points,” Nabi said after the match that had youngster Mduduzi Shabalala scoring twice in two minutes to save Amakhosi the blushes.

Nabi was not impressed by Amakhosi on Wednesday
“It’s true that we’ve come from two goals behind, which shows that improvement in mentality and character. But that was not enough because we believe we should’ve taken the three points today.
“It’s obviously something that we have improved on, the character. But in this kind of game for this kind of club, it’s not enough.
“We need to do more in the beginning, we need to do more when we have these kind of opportunities.”
