Nabi’s Kaizer Chiefs fall heavily against TS Galaxy

The Glamour Boys prove once again that they are not ready to compete after another pre-season beating.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi has suffered another massive loss in pre-season against Premier Soccer League side TS Galaxy.

Having finished 10th on the PSL table last season, Amakhosi missed out on the annual MTN8 tournament as opposed to Galaxy who faced Stellenbosch in the quarter-final a couple of weeks ago, but lost 3-1.

The Glamour Boys requested a friendly game with the Carling Knockout finalists which was played on Thursday evening.

Is Nabi failing already?

The Soweto giants have signed some good players ahead of the 2024/25 season. Angola international Inasio Miguel and former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino are quality players who have joined Amakhosi.

Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, and Bongani Sam are the other players who have been signed by Chiefs. However, the team is not yet ready after falling 3-0 against the Rockets in a midweek friendly fixture.

Interestingly, among those who were on the scoresheet is Puso Dithejane – who controversially left the Glamour Boys, Sphiwe Mahlangu, and Thokozani Sibanyoni.

The fans have every reason to be worried after their team was also hammered 4-0 by Yanga SC in the Toyota Cup game played on July 28.

What should Nabi do to help Chiefs deliver this season?

The Tunisian is desperate to bring in new faces in the ongoing transfer window. They have been linked with several top players but things are just not falling into place on their side.

Amakhosi have seemingly lost the race to sign Percy Tau and Fiston Mayele to bolster their attacking department.

The former Young Africans SC coach will surely need another established midfielder and work harder in his bid to get a new forward. The Glamour Boys' first competitive game will be on Saturday, September 14 against Marumo Gallants in the PSL.
