Nasreddine Nabi makes bold statement about Kaizer Chiefs challenge

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has made a bold statement about the challenge that he’s facing to turn things around in Naturena.

The Tunisian tactician was appointed during the off-season, replacing Molefi Ntseki who had been sacked by the club last year.

Amakhosi had been under the interim leadership of Cavin Johnson (former Head of Academy) who parted ways with the club at the end of the season.

Nabi feels he’s had adequate time to prepare the team for the season with the Betway Premiership delayed due to prolonged sponsorship negotiations.

WHAT MAKES NABI CONTENT RIGHT NOW?

“It was a good thing for me because I'm a new coach in the league,” he told the media as quoted by KickOff.

“It gave me time to have more training sessions and discover more about the players that I have.

“This has helped inform my decision about what we need and what we should have in the team.”

Nabi admitted that he won't promise immediate trophies, as they need to rebuild the team. However, he stated he has the experience to tackle challenges like the one at Chiefs.

WHAT BOLD STATEMENT NABI MADE ABOUT CHIEFS CHALLENGE

“Firstly, it is important that we get to have a strong team, then get the performance right and then results will come.

“Then the trophies will come. I know what the fans want, but I'm a realist who respects both the club and the fans.

“We are going to do this step by step and this is only the start. I want passion.

“I don't want to be a populist coach who talks about that we are going to win and this and that.

“I respect the club and the fans, and, in this challenge, we will work hard and give 200%.

“I know what direction to take, and I have the experience in a challenge like this and I'm not afraid of competition. I know the challenge, but in football you need time.”
