The Nedbank Cup semi-finals take center stage this weekend, replacing the Premier Soccer League.
The first clash, on Sunday, between the defending champions Orlando Pirates and Marumo Gallants will be staged at the Orlando Stadium from 15.00 hours while the second one will see last edition's finalists Mamelodi Sundowns take on Kaizer Chiefs at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
In the 2023/24 edition, Bucs successfully defended the title after grabbing a 2-1 win against Masandawana, who were under former coach Rulani Mokwena. Former Bafana Bafana international Teko Modise now wants to see a repeat of last season's final, after ruling out Chiefs beating the Brazilians in the last four.
Sundowns and Pirates are big teams now, I want to see them in Nedbank Cup final
“I would like to see the repeat of last season’s Nedbank Cup final with Pirates and Sundowns because that’s one of the fixtures as well that has become the epitome of South African football,” Modise told iDiski Times.
“We have both teams competing in CAF semi-finals, you know being in an advantage position as they are. And these are big teams right now, the best teams right now in South Africa. So, I want to see them in the final again. I think that’s the blockbuster fixture that every fan will be excited to see.

“And also there are equally good players on both sides I think they can cancel each other and I think they can give us an exceptional final like they did last season,” the 42-year-old concluded.
