Kaizer Chiefs hope to end their decade-long trophy drought on May 10 when they play Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The Glamour Boys defied the odds to get past Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-final to set up the Soweto derby. Wandile Duba and Ashley du Preez struck to cancel out Teboho Mokoena's beautiful freekick that left Bruce Bvuma with no chance.
The defending champions got past Marumo Gallants, thanks to Kabelo Dlamini's sole strike, to get into the final. After winning the MTN8 for three consecutive seasons, the Buccaneers will be aiming to do the same in the Nedbank Cup.
‘Winning the trophy will relieve pressure from Nabi' – Mayo

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Patrick Mayo feels the Glamour Boys should win the annual competition to help get their confidence back, and ease the pressure on coach Nasreddine Nabi.
“It is very important for Chiefs to win a trophy after 10 years, otherwise we'll end up being the laughing stock [of SA football] if we're not going to win this Nedbank Cup on the 10th of May,” he said as quoted by SABC Sport.
“In terms of coach Nabi, winning the trophy will buy him more time and appease the supporters. So, it's very important for him to win it to relieve some pressure.”
‘I don't see any reason for Nabi to make changes'

During his active days, Mayo won two league titles and some major trophies. He concedes it doesn't feel good when Amakhosi struggle to deliver silverware.
“It's always very painful because whenever I meet people, they always talk about Chiefs. [Saying] No you should come back and play for Chiefs. The players there now don't deserve to wear the jersey. So it's not easy being reminded that the club you played for used to win trophies,” the 51-year-old added.
Mayo then gave Nabi a piece of advice about the future, “He just needs to add to the players we already have. Some of the teams competing against us have got depth, and we don't have that. If so and so is injured, we struggle a lot. I don't see any reason to make any changes.”
