Orlando Pirates legend James Mothibi has heaped praise on Kaizer Chiefs following the thrilling Soweto derby this past weekend.
The Sea Robbers claimed Soweto derby bragging rights with a victory at a sold-out FNB Stadium on Saturday.
A late, chipped penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi secured a victory for Orlando Pirates over Kaizer Chiefs in the season's first Soweto Derby.
The breakthrough came in the final minute when Pirates were awarded a penalty after Blom fouled Mofokeng in the box.
Mothibi says Chiefs surprised many battling against the high-flying Buccaneers despite many expecting them to be easily defeated.

MOTHIBI – ‘IT’S NOT EASY TO ACHIEVE THAT AGAINST PIRATES’
“It was a very good game of football as both teams played openly and no one was sitting at the back,” said Mothibi.
“The two teams attacked each other both in the first and second half and I have to give credit to Kaizer Chiefs in terms of how they organised their team by bringing in experienced players because it's not easy to win against Orlando Pirates.
“I'm not saying they won but that's what they were trying to do, and it was always going to be difficult because it's not easy to achieve that against Pirates.
“They (Chiefs) tried, and they did that well, but it was never going to be easy because of how good Pirates have been and how well they have been playing.”
