Appollis is a top player – Motaung Jr. admits

In his recent interview with Radio947, Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. conceded the Polokwane attacker is a quality player and any team in Mzansi would love to have him.

“Of course, he’s a top player. But we very rarely speak about players from other teams,” the 43-year-old stated.

“The chairman of Polokwane City is our colleague, sometimes when we talk about players of other clubs it could cause unwarranted instability at the club and in the player’s mind.

“What I can say about Appollis is I don’t know any club in the country who wouldn’t want to sign Oswin. We know we need to get the best talent to achieve our goals.

“He’s a top player and we’re working tirelessly to bring top players to the club.”

‘We have had talks about him'

As confirmed earlier, the Soweto giants have presented an R10 million offer for the 23-year-old, and Motaung Jr. has confirmed.

“We would love to have him, we’ve had talks with the chairman of Polokwane City, not only about Oswin [Appollis] but other players also. It’s a process that’s ongoing,” he added.

“I understand when coaches get frustrated if clubs mention their players in the media, we respectfully don’t do that but it doesn’t mean we’re not working as hard as we can on bringing these top talents.”
