‘Our mentality is simple’ – Ncikazi on what’s needed from Pirates ahead of Alger clash

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has spoken about their approach ahead of the CAF Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash against MC Alger.

The Buccaneers are set to battle an Algerian side at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, in a crucial CAF Confederation Cup quarter-final second leg clash, with a semi-final spot on the line.

Ezimnyama Ngenkani hold a slender 1-0 advantage thanks to a vital away goal scored by Mohau Nkota in the first leg in Algiers.

Despite this lead, co-coach Ncikazi has stated that the team is approaching the game with a 0-0 mentality, emphasizing the need to secure a win at home to ensure their progression.

“Our mentality is simple, it’s a 0-0 match,” Ncikazi told OP TV as quoted by iDiski Times.

We have to play the match to win tomorrow [today, Wednesday] against a tough opponent who I think also want the same.

“For us, it’s just to go the semi-finals, we have to win the match tomorrow. That’s our mentality.

“We don’t analyse a previous performance in terms of the result, we only analyse what is going to happen tomorrow.

“And one mandate is to win the match tomorrow, and the consequence of winning will take us to the semi-final.”
