Bafana Bafana and Al Ahly star Percy Tau has commented on the reports linking him with the Rulani Mokwena-led Wydad Casablanca.

The Moroccan giants have been among the clubs that are said to have shown interest in the former Mamelodi Sundowns left-footer amid his Al Ahly exit rumours.

Speaking during the interview with SNAWA on Metro FM on Friday, Tau dismissed claims of a rift with Al Ahly's coach, Marcel Koller

Asked whether he had been approached by Mokwena about a possible move to the Moroccan Botola Pro this season, he insisted that such conversations had not taken place.

He acknowledged the relationship he has with the 37-year-old tactician, expressing his happiness about the prospects of meeting him in North Africa, following Mokwena's recent move to Morocco.

Tau and Mokwena worked together at Sundowns when the team was still under the tutelage of Pitso Mosimane.

PERCY TAU RESPONDS ON WYDAD CASABLANCA LINKS

“No, I never spoke with him about Wydad. I also saw it in the news,” said Tau.

“We are close but I did not speak to him about work.

When pressed about reported interest in him, he said: “No, we are close man, he just got to Wydad and I’m at Ahly also.

“It’s even close, we will meet each other there. We will meet and talk but not in terms of moving to Wydad.”

Tau has been at Ahly for three years now having signed for the club after departing the EPL side Brighton and Hove Albion.

He has scored 27 goals and registered 13 assists in 109 appearances he has made in the process.
