Orlando Pirates endured a challenging Betway Premiership match against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
They ultimately secured a 1-0 victory thanks to a second half goal from the captain of the day Nkosinathi Sibisi.
The win sees the Buccaneers maintain their second-place position in the league with 46 points from 20 matches, narrowing the gap to leaders Mamelodi Sundowns to 12 points with three games in hand.
Polokwane City, despite a spirited performance, remain in sixth place with 34 points after 24 games.
City had an early chance through Bonginkosi Dlamini, but Pirates then dominated possession and created several opportunities, with Relebohile Mofokeng failing to convert two clear chances in the first half.

Makhehleni Makhaula also hit the side netting, and Brian Okoth saved a long-range effort from Thalente Mbatha. City threatened before halftime, with Sipho Chaine denying Oswin Appollis.
SIBISI’S DECISIVE GOAL IN THE SECOND HALF
The second half saw fewer clear-cut chances until the 67th minute when Sibisi headed in a free-kick from substitute Kabelo Dlamini.
The Sea Robbers now prepare for their crucial CAF Champions League quarter-final second leg against MC Alger, where they hold a 1-0 advantage.
After then, they will take on Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup semi-final on 13 April at Orlando Stadium before they face off against SuperSport United in the league on 20 April at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.
