Pirates have NO CHANCE against ‘experienced’ Al Ahly – Zinnbauer claims

Former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinbbauer insists the Soweto giants cannot beat Al Ahly in Cairo on Saturday.

The two teams are set to battle for the top position in Group C of the Caf Champions League outing. Bucs are the only unbeaten team in the group having collected 11 points from three wins and two draws.

The defending champions have three wins, a draw, and a loss which puts them second in the log with 10 points. The initial meeting at the Orlando Stadium ended goalless with both teams employing a cautious approach.

Ahead of this weekend's meeting, the German tactician has explained why the Sea Robbers will find it hard to beat the Red Devils. He believes the Egyptian giants have too much experience as opposed to the Jose Riveiro-led outfit.

Al Ahly's character too much for Pirates?

“I know my teams, Al-Ahly and Orlando Pirates, well. The South African team is performing wonderfully in the African Champions League and has distinguished players,” he said, according to Al Shorouk.

“I think that the match between Al-Ahly and Orlando Pirates will be difficult. Al Ahly's character makes it more likely to win against Orlando Pirates in Saturday's match.

“Al Ahly is an experienced team in the Champions League and will qualify as the group leader and is the first candidate to win the African title in every edition.”

Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly have already secured their quarter-final ticket and will just be battling for the top position. Khanyisa Mayo's CR Belouizdad and Stade d'Abidjan have already been eliminated.
