Pirates legend warns Chiefs against ‘killing’ Sirino like Castro, Billiat and Dolly

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict ‘Tso' Vilakazi has lauded the immediate impact of Gaston Sirino, but warned Kaizer Chiefs of failing to give him enough support.

The 33-year-old is among the new signings at the Glamour Boys and he managed to get an assist as Amakhosi defeated Marumo Gallants 2-1 last weekend.

Despite his impact, Tso says the Khosi nation risks seeing Sirino struggle like Khama Billiat, Leonardo Castro, and Keagan Dolly if he is not accorded enough support.

The Buccaneers legend has explained why he was expecting the South American to have an immediate impact but warned against overloading him.

I was not shocked about Sirino but…

“If you look at the goals that Chiefs have scored, came from him, it tells you about his influence,” he told iDiski Times.

“I was not shocked that he fitted in because I know he is a good player. Good players just need an opportunity to express themselves but my worry is one, the lack of support. If he is not going to get the support he’s going to be in the same situation as Castro, Billiat, and Dolly?

“They come to the team and get overloaded with everything because there is no one helping them in terms of carrying the load. I’m worried about him carrying the whole load.”

After defeating Marumo Gallants 2-1 on matchday one, coach Nasreddine Nabi and his Glamour Boys will be in action again on Wednesday, September 20.

The Soweto giants will be at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban to play AmaZulu who lost 2-1 against Polokwane City in their initial league outing.
