Orlando Pirates underlined their seriousness in the Caf Champions League with a vital 1-0 quarter-final victory against MC Alger.

The first leg was played in Algeria, with substitute Mohau Nkota scoring the only goal of the match in the second half.

The Sea Robbers’ fans are delighted with what their team has done, insisting they have what it takes to go all the way.

Have a look at what they said.

Huge shout-out to Chaine

This referee was a complete disgrace. He was against Orlando Pirates in every aspect of the game, giving all the fouls to MC Alger. Where did those 8 minutes of added time come from? This was pure and blatant corruption –  Don Maningi

Political Party Orlando Pirates Football Club stop practicing witchcraft, you are embarrassing a country, which is morally wrong –  Umkhontu Wesizwe

I am so proud of our boys. They played like seasoned campaigners. This is how you approach the knockout stages of the Caf Champions League! A big up to coach Jose Riveiro, the man is a mastermind; the minute I saw the line up I said it we will get positive results out of this match. We played collectively as a team. It was tough, and they were coming at us. The referee was biased, but against all odds, we are the mighty Orlando Pirates – Mo Ga No Jnr

Huge shoutout to Sipho Chaine for his incredible game against MC Alger! His saves were insane! You're making waves, and we're all cheering you on! Keep shining! – Lebogang Rakwena

We have to give it to our coach, guys, the man is a genius. He knows our players in and out; he saw that Kabelo Dlamini was struggling, and he subbed in Mohau Nkota, who made an immediate impact. I want us to give Goodman Mosele a chance; the guy is going to be very vital for the remainder of the season. We conquered the odds away from home. We still remain undefeated in the competition, and we have a center-back in Mbokazi. Humble we remain – Kagiso Modise

Pirates have done the unthinkable

Though we struggled throughout the game, we came out victorious, regardless. We didn't have quite a good game, playing against 11 men, but we conquered, we remain unbeaten and that on its own is remarkable – Zuma M Galobhas

Is Sipho Chaine the rebirth of Senzo Meyiwa? I don't know. Well played. I don't care how we win. We won it, and I am sure we saw how their fans attended. Let's attend in numbers next week on Wednesday – Sello Van der Moloko

You have done the unthinkable again, boys! Credit to the defence; rock, rock solid! As for Chaine, we owe you ya cold drink – Hlatshwayo Tshepo Theonel

It wasn't a walk in the park. But we became triumphant at the end, we beat them and their referee. Well done to the boys, hopefully, we remain as solid on the second leg – Mdhadjo

I will praise Evidence Makgopa in front of the haters any day, this guy gives us so much when we are playing such games. Well done Mohau Nkota and the boys – Khanya Ndwammbi
