PSL chairman Irvin Khoza has unveiled the league's new sponsor after the conclusion of their partnership with DStv who has been with the league since 2020.
DStv signed a five year deal with PSL four years ago, taking over the title sponsorship from ABSA. Although the contract was set to expire in 2024, both parties discussed an early termination.
Khoza revealed that the new partnership with betway is three-year deal worth R900 million. He also assured the football enthusiasts that football will get underway on 3 August.

“I can tell you that the league is starting on the 3rd of August as indicated,” said Khoza in the press conference that was held on Wednesday at PSL offices in Parktown.
“We will be issuing a fixture this afternoon of what is happening on the 3rd of August as promised to everybody
“And sitting here it is my pleasure to welcome Mr. Laurene Michel. We are in this press conference and we now have Betway Premiership as the sponsor of the league. It is a three-year deal, and worth R900 million.
“Thank you very much DStv Premiership sponsor, it was done in this way because it was part of the plan long time ago. We, the executive committe know that, the media and other people didn't know that.
“That's why you are here because you will be continuing on other elements of our game.”
Betway CEO Laurene Michel expressed the gambling company's delight in partnering with the PSL, saying they have been looking to enter into the space for quite some time.
