Kaizer Chiefs youngster Samkelo Zwane has shared the dream that the current team of Amakhosi has of ending the club’s ten-year trophy drought.
Chiefs' trophy drought stretches back to the 2014/15 season, when they won the MTN8 and ABSA Premiership under Stuart Baxter.
Their recent 2-1 Nedbank Cup semi-final victory over Mamelodi Sundowns has, however, given them a chance to end this drought.
They now face Orlando Pirates in the final, a highly anticipated Soweto derby, the first cup final between the two teams since 2014.
Samkelo Zwane emphasised the significance of winning the Nedbank Cup, given the team's recent struggles.

ZWANE SAYS WINNING NEDBANK CUP WOULD BE MASSIVE FOR CHIEFS
“That’s part of [our plans]. We also spoke about it in our players meeting,” said Zwane.
“The situation might look bad right now but it’s actually an opportunity to change things, to make history. Imagine us after 10 years we are the ones that win a trophy at Kaizer Chiefs. That would be a great thing to achieve as a player.
“We have discussions of where we are on the table as players. We all understand what we need to do. But right now, we are taking one game at a time.”
