Sead Ramovic takes a jibe at ‘special friend’ Rulani Mokwena

After rumours swirled linking him to Raja Casablanca, TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic, took a jibe at Rulani Mokwena, who recently took the helm at Wydad Casablanca.

Mokwena was recently appointed by Wydad following his departure from Mamelodi Sundowns. Meanwhile, rumours suggest Ramovic, currently at TS Galaxy, could soon be headed to Wydad’s arch-rivals, Raja Casablanca.

The two coaches are known for having had a feud in the past season.

The fiery exchange between the coaches began when Mokwena blamed Sundowns' Carling Knockout Cup loss to Galaxy in October 2023 on missing Bafana Bafana players. Ramovic took offense, interpreting this as a way to downplay his team's victory.

They continued to fire shots at each other until the end of the season.

And now when questioned about the Raja rumours, Ramovic jokingly remarked that he wouldn't leave because he didn't want to cause the same outpouring of grief witnessed with Mokwena's departure.

Mokwena had said his sudden departure caused significant sadness in the team and fans, even bringing some to tears.

WHAT SEAD RAMOVIC SAID ABOUT RULANI MOKWENA

“I think I should not leave because I heard the interview from my special friend Rulani [Mokwena], that the players started to cry, the kids cried and the wives also cried,” said Ramovic.

“So I don’t want to leave because if I leave the players will probably also cry, the Sundowns players. And then the kids are crying and then the wives are crying.

“And I don’t want to do this, because they cried a lot because of Rulani.”

On a serious note, Ramovic didn’t want to discuss much about the Raja reports, saying all his focus was on improving TS Galaxy.

‘I’M NOT THINKING AT ALL ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE’

“I’m the head coach of this beautiful club, TS Galaxy and this is the whole focus, whole concentration, I’m not thinking at all about anything else,” he added.

“I’m here, I’m the coach of this great team. We want to improve, too, we want to get ready for the first game.”
