TS Galaxy and former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic have parted ways after a one-year engagement.
The 32-year-old joined the Rockets as a free agent after parting ways with Royal AM and signed an initial one-year deal with an option to extend it. It eventually happened and his current deal was set to expire at the end of the 2024/25 edition, but the player has opted out.
What did Nurkovic achieve last season?

In the 2023/24 edition, the veteran attacker played a total of 29 matches across all competitions and scored 10 goals in the process.
His eight goals in the league helped the Sead Ramovic-led team finish sixth on the table with 44 points, just one shy of the top-four positions.
Nurkovic was also part of the team that reached the Carling Knockout final. he played four games in the competition with a goal on his name. However, they lost against Stellenbosch in the last hurdle in the post-match penalties.
Galaxy confirm Nurkovic's exit
The striker reported for pre-season late and was not part of the team that played Stellies in the MTN8 quarter-final, a game they lost 3-1.
Reports have it that Nurkovich wanted to start more matches after just eight starts in the 29 matches played last season, but his wish was not granted.
“It is true that Galaxy have parted ways with Samir Nurkovic. It’s a decision that was taken after careful consideration by both the club and Samir,” the Rockets confirmed on Friday.
Both parties felt that their strategic goals had taken a different turn such that it would be in their best possible interest to part ways now rather than later when his contract ends at the end of the season. Samir is a top professional who has served us with distinction. We wish him well in his future endeavours.”
It is interesting to see where Nurkovic will end up since he has enough quality to play in the Premier Soccer League.
