‘Sirino made Chiefs cry but Mokwena took him away from Downs’ – Mzansi to Pitso

Published on by

Celebrated South African coach Pitso Mosimane recently lauded new Kaizer Chiefs signing Gaston Sirino stating ‘class is permanent'.

The 33-year-old has seemingly got his mojo back at the Glamour Boys; he has two goals and three assists in the four matches he has played across all competitions. His latest strike was on Saturday in the club's 4-0 win over SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout.

Mosimane signed the South American for Masandawana from Bolivar in the 2017/18 season, and the creative midfielder went on to stay at the club for seven campaigns until the 2023/24 edition when he fell out with coach Rhulani Mokwena. Have a look at what the fans said after ‘Jingles' comment.

Not so long ago, Sirino was one of the South American rejects that were brought to South Africa by Sundowns. Now the tune is different because he's no longer playing for Sundowns – Gatyeni

Well even though Sirino made Chiefs cry we love him. Now we need to use him to make them cry –  Lunga Ngwane

Your assistant coach [Rhulani Mokwena] that you brought back from Pirates took him away from us [Mamelodi Sundowns] – Samkelo Maphanga

We don't have a lot of top number 10s in the country, can Sirino be considered in the absence of Themba Zwane for Bafana Bafana? –  Sbusiso Yende

This player was forced to do video cam training alone at Chloorkop to show how “committed” he was to the club. Dark times coach but I am glad you and previous scouts managed to convince such a talent to come to the PSL via Mamelodi Sundowns FC – Mpho

Too soon for Broos to call Sirino to Bafana?

Gaston Sirino is a marvel to watch on the field of play. Thank you coach Pitso Mosimane – Theko

Guess what? Some other coach offloaded Sirino to Chiefs. He benched and disrespected him saying he lost interest in football. That coach left Downs. Today, Chiefs are enjoying the fruits of Downs scouting. Some coaches are just… otherwise, it is water under the bridge – Mphowa Moletlane

Sure, coach Pitso Mosimane, Congratulations on the new project, and good luck – Motubeni Mofenyi

Is it too soon for Hugo Broos to call Sirino to the Bafana Bafana team? Zwane is injured. We need a magician – Thembinkosi Phakathi

And to think Chiefs initially didn't want to sign him! Most of the technical team is clueless, Nabi saw the talent and gave him a chance – Mzansifosho
