Stellies have already lost six players this season, among them three top stars who were critical for the team last season.
Midfielder Antonio van Wyk will not be part of Stellenbosch's 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season squad, as confirmed by coach Steve Barker.
The 22-year-old attacking player has been one of the Stellies key players who played 34 games across all competitions for the club. He scored four goals and provided as many assists for Barker's outfit.
It explains why Austrian outfit SV Ried have been keeping tabs on him, eventually getting his services.

‘Van Wyk is now going to Austria'
Ahead of the MTN8 semi-final game against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, Barker confirmed another star player has left for greener pastures.
“You have to look at this and be proud of what we’re doing as a football club,” Barker told the media on Monday afternoon.
“To see so many players coming through and enhancing their careers going forward. Antonio van Wyk is now going to Austria; I believe it will be finalized soon if not [done] already.”
Who has left the Stellies?
Iqraam Rayners ditched the Carling Knockout champions for Masnadawana a couple of weeks ago.
Soweto Giants Orlando Pirates snapped their captain Deano van Rooyen to strengthen the defensive department. Van Wyk is the sixth player to leave the club after the exit of Qobolwakhe Sibande, Nhlanhla Mgaga, and Salifu Colley.
Bulky Ivorian defender Ismail Toure has also been tipped to leave with Pirates heavily linked with his services. Kaizer Chiefs are hunting want-away left-back Fawaaz Basadien.
Brian Onyango, Sanele Barns, Omega Mdaka, and Lehlohonolo Mojela are so far the new players in the club.
